Another FedEx Lie (Strike, Strike, Strike) What if a contract - TopicsExpress

Another FedEx Lie (Strike, Strike, Strike) What if a contract cant be reached with FedEx? That is what FedEx wants you to believe. Well, this is where the rubber meets the road. A strike is an action of last resort and seldom used in contract bargaining. In fact, over 98% of union contracts are settled without a strike. FedEx doesn’t want a strike any more than we do, so everyone has an incentive to reach a compromise during bargaining. FedEx may want to play hardball, but that’s ok, because the Teamsters have a long and successful tradition of skillfully bargaining contracts that ensure organizing rights and a neutral stance for unorganized units at the same employer. The Teamsters have developed many other tactics that can put pressure on FedEx to reach a fair agreement with our union. For example, the Teamsters use boycotts or corporate campaigns or community support, rather than necessarily having to resort to striking. When you vote “YES” and win your election, you will negotiate a contract with FedEx. The Teamsters can make no promises on what the contract will contain, that is for you to decide when you vote on your contract. Remember, the Teamsters will guarantee that your contract will be legally binding, and they can and will make sure the contract is enforced.
