Another Good music; worth listening to. post. This time its Forget Not, by Ne Obliviscaris on their album Portal of I. My reasoning behind this: There are many people, who upon hearing the word metal in reference to music, immediately assume something like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, or Pantera, amongst many others. Theyre not necessarily wrong, but theres a lot more diversity than that. There are many people, who upon hearing the phrase death metal in reference to music, immediately assume something like Cannibal Corpse, Children of Bodom, Bring Me the Horizon, or even (god-forbid) Underoath. Theyre right in a couple of cases, but for the most part, theyre wrong. I use this song as an example, because Portal of I is labelled as Extreme Metal, which would put a lot of people off. The album incorporates many varying aspects from progressive metal, black metal, melodic death metal, amongst others. I aim for this to be something like a PSA exemplifying dont judge a book by its cover, because this is an amazing song that you dont have to be a metalhead to appreciate. Along those lines. Im repetitively surprised that Christian Älvestam (who was the vocalist for melodic death metal songs like this https://youtube/watch?v=ladtf7nA39E ) managed to release a solo album featuring pop/prog songs like this https://youtube/watch?v=FINsVqb_WsE .
