Kuala Lumpur is the same airport where the missing flight originated before losing radio contact over Southeast Asia. The plane forced to make an emergency landing was an Airbus A330-300. It landed uneventfully in Hong Kong, the airline says. Airline officials say the reason Malaysian Airlines Flight 066 was diverted was because of an inoperative aircraft generator, which supplies normal electrical power, the company told CNN. Despite the malfunction, the airline says the planes electrical power continued to be supplied by the planes auxiliary power unit.
