Another Mama Bear Update Log, 13:00, 11.08.14: Cub just turned to me, smiled, waved, and said tubes out! He gives a 7 or 8 out of 10 on the scale of general well-being and health. Unexpectedly, neurosurgery showed up this AM and decided that its time to free him from the drain in his back. A weird feeling and 2 stitches later, he no longer has that attachment. Eye exam looked good today. Mood is better. Probably going home tomorrow. Weening off IV meds, like steroids. Will be returning to eye clinic early next week to closely monitor vision. More laps around the PICU after lunch. Progress! Looks like its downhill from here. Humbly grateful for excellent care at Strong and caring people all around.
