Another PIJAC product report - Dog Food edition. I got samples of Grandma Lucys freeze dried at PIJAC yesterday. Its fairly new to us here in Canada, and Ive never tried it before. I mixed up two samples 50/50 goat milk and water, and tried it on Violas puppies. Im super impressed at how smooth it mixes up and how quickly it rehydrates. The puppies LOVED it - they just sucked down so much they can hardly move. For those of you who, like me, used to wean onto Pablum (baby rice cereal) mixed with milk, this looks incredibly similar, and is just as easy for them to eat. First meal was last night - poops this morning were gorgeous. The Pureformance Lamb has a really good calorie count for a freeze dried, plus grain free and NO potatoes. I can see it being great for weaning, seniors or dogs who have dental issues and need a smooth, soft food. Not inexpensive (of course), but not sticker shock inducing, either. For weaning, Id stick to lamb (or venison if you like overpaying for proteins). Thumbs up, will be ordering this week!
