Another Police Report?!?!?! Didn’t the Indiana State Police - TopicsExpress

Another Police Report?!?!?! Didn’t the Indiana State Police just get done submitting a report detailing a long list of problems they discovered existing within the Gary Police Department? And didn’t the administration just ignore just about every one of the recommendations contained within the State’s report? So now we learn that the Department of Justice is also going to evaluate the Gary Police Department, and presumably some time thereafter will also provide a report of its findings. So why should we expect the administration to respond any differently to the yet-to-be conducted Fed report than they did to the already submitted Indiana State Police report? It reminds me of the reports that the Gary Airport commissioned. When the Airport Authority didn’t like what the consultants told them, they just ignored the reports that they didn’t like, and went out and found some different consultants; hoping for a different outcome. I think that just about everyone knows what is wrong with the Gary Police Department: Too many chiefs and not enough Indians; too much personnel at 555 Polk, and not enough personnel everywhere else in the city. Add to this, morale is at an all-time low, worn out equipment, a poor patrol strategy, and more crime than any department was ever designed to handle. The Gary Police Department needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Crime is completely out of control in this city. The Gary Police Department has lost control of the streets. We don’t need any team of specialists to tell us that!
