Another SCAM ALERT ! There is a new scam being reported where students are being contacted at other universities via email regarding an advertising ploy asking them to have their vehicles wrapped in advertising for the company. The students receive a $3000.00 dollar check in the mail and are then asked to keep $300.00 for themselves and Western Union the remainder of the money to Auto-Skinz Wrap who will be putting the advertising on the students vehicle and taking it off for them. Once the check is cashed the students are out of money because the checks are fraudulent. This is a common Nigerian type scam that surfaces from time to time through contact that originates on sites such as Craigslist and other web based programs and social media outlets where personal contact information is available. Under no circumstances should any of our followers make arrangements to participate in such a gimmick. Reputable companies would never ask this of a customer. Please share this as well!
