Another Saturday night of Short Track Racing Action is on tap, this Saturday with a 4pm post time. It will be the final points night for the J&S Steel Sportsman Modifieds, Key RD Trailer Sales Renegades, Ground Round Late Models, and Busch Beer Mini-Mods. Also on the schedule, the Valenti Modified Racing Series. The Sportsman Modifieds will take part in the Northern Modified Challenge Series. The last Northern Modified Challenge series winners at Airborne were Chazy, NY’s Leon Gonyo and Brandon, VT driver Vince Quenneville. The Valenti Modified Racing Series will have 100 laps of competition with the Northern Modified Challenge racing a total of 50 laps. The Late Models will run twin 25’s and the Renegades and Mini-Mods will run regular distance events. The Valenti Modifieds near the end of their racing season with the top 5 in points as follows: 1 #25 Rowan Pennink 530, 2 #21 Justin Bonsignore 523, 3 #5CT Chris Pasteryak 495, 4 #99 Richard Savary 465, 5 #20CT Max Zachem 450. The Renegade point battle is heated and down to three drivers in the final week. Jamy Begor leads Robert Gordon by 1 point and Lance Rabtoy is 6 points back. It has come down to a two horse race in the Sportsman Modified division. Nick Heywood leads Travis Bruno by 7 points going into the final weekend. In the Late Models, Bucko Branham leads Nick Lagoy by 22 points. The Mini-Mod point championship has been clinched by Steven Bresette. Advance sale tickets are $18 and can be purchased by calling 647-4444 or by stopping in at Rent-A-Wreck, Route 3 in Plattsburgh. Tickets the day of will be $20. Kids 12 and under will be free of charge.
