Yemens Information Minister warned Monday of an attempted coup after clashes broke out near the presidential palace and rebels fired on the motorcade of Prime Minister Khaled Bahah, driving him into hiding. Sakkaf told The Associated Press that the new outbreak of fighting is a step toward a coup and it is targeting the states legitimacy.
