Another Thoughtful Question! I pressed the ‘print’ button on my computer set to the Nederlands version and watched as the pages printed out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_frank Then I gathered up the pages and stepped into my Time Machine. I set the dial for ‘3 August 1944’ and I set the location for ‘Prinsengracht 267, Amsterdam.’ Amsterdam is a beautiful city, even under Nazi occupation, especially at this time of the year. I walked up to the door and I knocked. A young lady answered the door and I asked to see Meisje Anne Frank. She stammered and said, “No one lives here by that name.” I replied, “I presume that you are Meisje Gies. I know who you are and I know that Anne Frank lives here. I must speak with her. Time cannot be wasted.” She hesitated. I walked in. She let me pass. I walked to the bookcase that covered the entrance to the Secret Annex. I entered and called for Anne Frank. She came forward. She was wide-eyed and she was afraid. But, still, she came forward. I tried to smile to put her at ease. “Anne,” I said, “You must read this.” I handed her the computer printout. “You must decide. Are you to become one of the most famous and loved people in the history of the Earth. Or, do you want to come with me and be little Anne Frank that no one ever heard of. But! You get to live for another 50 or 60 or 70 years. I’ll be back in an hour for your answer.” What will Anne Frank decide to do?
