Another beautiful assignment from Jon-Mark Van Rooyen... "“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ.” Eph 2:4 I love how Paul puts it here – God made us alive together with Christ, while we we’re dead in our sins. It means that something happened to me outside of my response of faith. It means that in Christ Jesus, something really really big was going on. “He will revive us after two days, and on the third day He will raise us up so we can live in His presence.” Hosea 6:2 I love this! What a beautiful scripture! WE get revived after two days, WE get raised up on the third day… and before we can right this off as some abstract fact, Hosea concludes “so we can live in His presence”! If the incarnation is the entanglement of God and man in the person of Christ, then the resurrection is the ‘raising up’ to newness of life for all creation, so WE can LIVE in His presence. Not one day, but today. This is why God calls everyone everywhere to repent (change your mind) (Acts 17:30), because there is something true about everyone in every corner of this earth."
