It says simply this: To amend chapter 161, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the common core state standards initiative. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: Section A. Chapter 161, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 161.855, to read as follows: 161.855. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the state board of education, the department of elementary and secondary education and school districts shall not implement the Common Core State Standards developed by the Common Core State Standards Initiative or any substantially similar learning standards.
