Another black eye for Galveston County Judge Mark - TopicsExpress

Another black eye for Galveston County Judge Mark Henry? Buckeye Classic Car Restoration did not write this letter but when they were called, they confirmed the story: I would like to take this opportunity to make the citizens and media of Galveston County aware of a situation in which your County Judge, Mark Henry, is currently involved. In 2012, Mr. Henry contracted a restoration shop in northeastern Ohio to have his 1964 Mustang restored. He had initially claimed that it was to be raffled off for a charitable organization in his area and as a result, the restoration shop owner gave Mr. Henry all parts at wholesale cost and the labor performed at a 50% discount. Accounting records indicate that the work performed was funded by various entities (corporations and LLC’s), including Talon Air Service and Keyhole Properties, which are Mr. Henry’s company accounts. Normally, there wouldn’t be an issue with this, however, Mr. Henry has retracted his intentions of donating the Mustang to charity and stated in interrogatories that the vehicle would be used in his re-election campaign and then was to be sold outright. Before the car was completed, accounting records indicate he was carrying a large past-due balance. Numerous collection attempts via certified mail were made, with no resolution. As a result of the increasing past due balance and lack of return communication, it is the shop’s standard operating procedure to perform a title search with the intention of filing a lien against the vehicle. Upon learning of the title search, Mr. Henry immediately filed a lawsuit as a preemptive measure to avoid the lien and paying the past due balance. Mr. Henry has created a list of bogus grounds under which the lawsuit was filed; all of which can be countered and supported with solid documentation. There is also evidence that Mr. Henry attempted to use his public position to reach out to some of our local Republican representatives to influence this case in his favor. Mr. Henry is seeking over $136,000 + attorney’s fees in damages against a small business who performed concours restoration work for him at their cost, or less, in an effort to help with his charitable endeavors. We feel there needs to be an effort to disclose the dishonesty and manipulation of Mr. Henry, using his role as a public figure. Anyone who fraudulently manipulates a small business as he has done, in addition to trying to sway our local government officials to his favor, has absolutely no place in the court of law, unless he is brought in front of it which is where Mr. Henry will be in October December (He doesn’t want this case to go to court before the election) when this case reaches the courtroom. The files should be in the public domain in the Mahoning Co. Courthouse in Ohio, Cause 50 2014 CV 453. If you need to speak to the defendants, their business address is: Buckeye Classic Car Restoration 6145 State Route 446 Canfield, OH 44406 (330) 533-4757
