Another busy day behind the scenes of Help for the Homeless!! Today Keryn as assisted and funded by Gill and Dave took much needed vaccines to the latest puppy to join the Homeless of our streets! While we know that it is not the most ideal situation for a puppy such as Souljah to be bought up in, we do however agree essential vet care is still needed! Myself and my P.A ( She is happy to remain unnamed) worked very hard to make a grant application to Te Pūtahitanga on time! Wed like to send out a HUGE thanks to those that assisted with this: The lovely Mp for Christchurch East Poto Williams and of course Heather :-) . Also thanks to Byron from Warehouse Stationary, South City who helped my P.A out at the last minute. Lastly would love to thank Caz and Whānau for allowing us to apply for some of the available grant money! Tonight we held another very successful meeting and discussed both past and present events for this organisation and the Locals! Past events include: Latest locals to get housed and find employment Our fantastic past dinners, lunches and giftings Meeting with Paul and Bob from C.C.C Sausage sizzle Up and coming events include: Clearing of the school room of clothing , due to demolishing we will shortly lose this storage :-( !! We would like to thank Staff in particular Brian and Helen at North New Brighton school who have allowed us to occupy there since the word go. I would also like to personally thank Cheryl and Paul for putting up with kinks that have popped up and of course Nigel for dragging him away on the weekends to open up for us! We will be holding another sausage sizzle at the Santa parade in New Brighton on the 13th of December and hope to be more visible for those coming down to support us! We are busy working on plans to hold a special but very laid back Christmas celebration! We will probably still need a few more volunteers but please head to the volunteer group page rather than PM main page ( this page )! Ill provide a link shortly! Many other events discussed tonight too. Thanks to the amazing Mandy at Under the Red Verandah for once again allowing us to host the meeting there! Some awesome collections are also planned by our super fantastic supporters out there! We will keep you posted as to those genuinely collecting for our cause! I can hint that there is a Barbers shop, a primary school, web designers and housing organisation indicating possible collections! Pretty neat AYE!! All in all a very busy day behind the scenes by a very dedicated and determined team!! We push through the hard, long days with the knowledge that our efforts are for the greatest good of those that need it most!! Were passionate about what we do and by spending so much time at grass roots level are well aware of both the problems and the changes we are making to many lives. Amy xx P.s sorry for the late posts, I often find there is not enough hours in the day!
