Another busy day in the life of Wonky Towers. Alfie a little 6 - TopicsExpress

Another busy day in the life of Wonky Towers. Alfie a little 6 month old Bichon x JRT moved off to his new foster home. Dutch a long legged, very agile mountain goat, oh no sorry Jack Russell, has found a place in the fence he can squeeze his body through so more fencing needed tomorrow. We were so sad to learn that one of the three tiny kittens found in the Maerdy area a couple of days ago left for the bridge today. The other two seem to be doing well so we hope they will pull through. The last two of a litter of four newborns being cared for at our vets also passed to the bridge but their mother is starting to pick up and we are optimistic that she will recover. She is feral so we will look to find a suitable home for her once fully recovered and spayed. The sudden wet, windy weather and cold nights has been a huge shock to the kittens and cats born outside and there will be lots more litters than have not been lucky enough to find a place of safety. Also great that one of our handrear litters that was causing concern has also picked up. We had some new arrivals. two beauitful 9 week old ginger female kittens who are going to be living with a small black kitten who cae in a couple of days ago on his own. We try to avoid mixing kittens but it is so much better for young kittens to have friends to play with that we are relieved he now has some company of his own kind. We also had a litter of 3 tinies come in today after they were found on the doorstep of a vets in a cardboard box. They are no more that 5 to 6 weeks old but seem fit and have been well cared for. Our female rabbit and her 6 babies found in Porthcawl a couple of weeks ago continue to do well. Two of our feral males shoud be leaving for a wonderful new home on Sunday and now they have been neutered their lives should be much less stressful, plus they will no longer have to search for their next meal. We had a skip delivered today ready for our weekend clean up and we are grateful to Gill of Gills Skip Hire in Penygraig for supporting our work and giving us a good discount. we jhave written a seperate post about the cat found in Penygraig with chemical burns to his face and mouth and hopefully he will soon start to feel a little more comfotable under the great care of Maesglas Vets. Thank you so much to the two of the people who answered our appeal for extra large dog crates and dropped them off today. they have already been put to good use. Signing off for now from Wonky Towers.
