Another committee hearing to demand why Triggs recommended that Indonesian killer should be paid $350,000 compensation and released into community detention. One would hope this woman had the brains to resign by now, I would like to know one good reason why we need the HRC, seriously who would miss them, they are costing us around $27 million a year and for what? I know Labor would miss them, the Greens would scream blue murder and the UN would probably black mark us forever but why do we need them? Human Rights Commission president Gillian Triggs will be challenged by senators to ¬explain a “bizarre” recommend-ation to release a known killer into the community, amid growing anger at her call to compensate the man for being held in detention.
