Another day, more memories The golden girl of British Athletes Donna Hartley (R.I.P.) was seen many times in Thornhill. Neil Martin(R.I.P.) from Oppurtunity Knocks fame I believe had relations in this area. Fred Dineage from Southern TV actually use to make a detour from the studios to call in to the parade of shops in Hinkler Rd on his way home. Bill Beaney Saints footballer lived in Thornhill. The one football star that Thornhill had in its grasp who could of gone all the way outstanding youth player on Saints book Timothy Chivers (R.I.P) unfortunately taking from us much to young in a tragic accident. Mike Smith Top Athletic coach lived on the estate. & not forgetting Bert Hinkler who made Thornhill his residence home. & know its a bit out of this area did anyone use to see Danny Le Rue walking his dogs by Bitterne Triangle.
