Another enjoyable train ride home from work. Below is part of the letter that I have just emailed to the school principle....it will be interesting to see if anything changes? I always ride in the second carriage from the front due to it being allocated a Quiet Carriage. Every day in this carriage there are approx 15 Ipswich State High students all in uniform who just create havoc until they get off the train over several stations between Goodna & Oxley. All of them, girls & boys and all of islander appearance (that is not a racist comment by the way, it is simply a fact and the best description I can give of them) that constantly run riot through the train. Yelling, pushing & shoving each other constantly swearing, climbing on seats and just being a general nuisance. I try to zone out & ignore them but it is very difficult and issues such as swearing do not faze me personally but there are quite often elderly people or parents with small children on the train who Im sure find it offensive. Today though I could not believe what I was seeing when the train pulled into Goodna station & the doors opened, two of the students who were earlier wrestling in the seats in front of me moved to the doors as they opened. As one of them left the train he turned and spat at the other who was still standing in the doorway and he in turn spat at the other fellow, this continued back and forward a few times with saliva landing all over the floor of the train. It was totally disgusting.
