Another excellent letter, worthy of sharing: Dear Councillor, You are a person with integrity and honour. You have a belief system that determines your morals, and strength of purpose, with a sense of duty. You stand when no one else does, you speak for those who do not, and you drive our region forward with vision and passion for the future. Not all choices you are faced with are easy, and not all processes are clear cut. Most people have no idea of the intricacies of the vast number of problems and issues you face. Politics by its very nature is a complex game of thrones, whereby at times you must sacrifice your own projects for the overarching view of others. You make some gains and you make some losses. But you are a braver person for putting your head above the parapet, and standing on a platform that fundamentally is about the representation of the people. My personal choice is to vote for an economic driver that provides a social and economic catalyst for change within Whangarei. My personal choice is the HWMAC proposal, and I ask that you vote in favour of that proposal. Not everyone is cut out to be a politician. You are a special breed, and have a history of strong men and women behind you. Please accept my heartfelt thanks and acknowledgement of the role you play. Be brave. Be strong.
