Another fantastic team effort from the Colts this morning in our two fixtures against Wattsfield Wanderers and the hosts Heathwaite, who also showed good form against Wattsfield in the opening match. Our first match against Wattsfield 4.2 saw a quick opening goal from Ben Waters, then followed up with a goal a piece form Louis, Aaron and Joseph. The highlights for me came in our combination of defensive plays followed by some swift attacking play. Man of the Match Loius Miller. Bouyed up by our success we took on an on-form Heathwaite side, though our determination and strength in all areas soon exploited the slightly weaker defensive play of Heathwaite 1.5. Aaron was the first to make our mark on the scoresheet with a great second from Ben Waters. Charlie took a thump not long before the end of the first half meaning Aaron took over temporarily as keeper. Unfortunatly a bit of goal mouth confusion, allowed a sweeping corner kick to curve its way somehow across our goal line. However, Louis got us back in command with another goal for the colts by the end the first half. During the second half Joseph claimed a further two to round off a great team effort played in increasingly cold and wet conditions. My man of the man for this game goes to Ben Sansom for his defensive play. Well done! Although it is easy to focus on the goal scorers I am increasingly impressed with our growing confidence to tackle and win the ball. Keep it up boys - you are playing well as a team!
