Another from my talented friend, Matthew Giffin Matthew describes his work: "From 1991, 48" x 48". Painted on wood, treated with acrylic modeling paste, sanded down. The black lines were etched into the surface using a large nail, then drawn over with graphite. Sand, nails.. All kinds of stuff going on in the surface. Never been shown; still hanging on my wall at home. From a series of stream-of-consciousness paintings; thinking and not thinking, just following and creating each moment. Took about 3 weeks to complete."
