Another frustrating day at Day 1 of the Selections for Oxeania and World Cadet Championships with referee judgement errors. Day 1 results 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze. Benecia, Mia and Ronan made it to the National team for Oceania Championships. Juniors - Oceania Championships Selections Mia - Gold (uncontested) Benecia - Gold (opponent withdraw) Callan had an awesome start winning his first match and moved to a controversial final match. Callans back kick scored 1 point instead of 2. Mr Nos protest was rejected on basis that the back kick was blocked in the video replay and could not be confirmed. The match ended I with Callan losing by 1 point instead of golden point round, and having to settle for the silver medal. Raymond put up good efforts in his match but unfortunately lost, and ended with a bronze medal. Cadets -WCC & Oceania Selections Ronan did very well winning 2 matches and went to the finals, but unfortunately injured his arm and lost the match. He qualified for the Oceania Championships with the silver medal. Clintons spinning kick to the head scored 3 points instead of 4. Protest by Mr No for additional point was rejected on basis that video replay revealed back kick not spinning kick. Clinton unfortunately lost the match but put up a very brave and good fight despite the weight difference. Jason put up a very good fight in his first match. Though he lost the match, it was great experience for him. Good Luck to Ben, Jacob and Jerilee tomorrow !
