Another funny cat story: At my last apartment, here in Albuquerque, I had a tub and shower with shower doors. My late, beloved, orange-and-white Maine Coon, Stanley, could not bear to be away from me for any length of time, even to use the bathroom or take a shower. So Stanley would sit on the sink and meow while I showered. Then one day, I was surprised when Stanley leaped to the thin metal rail atop the shower doors. That ledge could not have been more than an inch and a half wide. He then walked back and forth along the thin ledge, talking to me as he strolled. He began doing this repeatedly and never missed on his leaps -- or so I thought. One day, he mistimed his leap, and I had a wet, 19-pound cat freaking out and trying to escape the wet, steamy shower. I got a few scratches before I managed to open the shower door and deposit him on the other side.
