Another good step towards achche dins and silent support as usual of achche din sarkar.. Hindu Mahasabha wants Godse busts across India The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha wants to install Nathuram Godses bust at public places in cities across India, the far-right political partys national president Chandra Prakash Kaushik said on Thursday. Social scientists feel the move might not only be a ploy to catch eyeballs but also an indicator of the radically altered political scenario of the country. In a day or two we will write a letter to the Union government asking for space. In India, we have named roads after Aurangzeb who killed so many Hindus. Why cant we have Godses statues? If the government refuses, we will install the busts at Hindu Mahasabha bhavans in different states. There are 17-18 such bhavans, Kaushik told TOI. One marble bust already adorns a corner of his office in Mandir Marg, central Delhi. Kaushik, however, points out it has not been installed yet (pratistha nahi hui hai). It was made to order from Kishengarh, Rajasthan, and cost us about Rs 17,000, he says. Godse gunned down Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, on January 30, 1948. But for Kaushik and his party, he is a martyr. Unlike Gandhi who played a very minor role in our freedom struggle, Godse was a patriot who sacrificed his life for the country, says the right-wing politician sporting a neatly trimmed beard. Kaushik said the idea to install Godses bust came after BJP politician Sakshi Maharajs retracted his statement on the killer of Mahatma Gandhi. Last week, the MP from Unnaon said that Godse was as much a patriot as Mahatma Gandhi. Following an outrage, he changed his stance in Parliament, I dont consider Godse a patriotic person. I take back my words if I had said something by mistake. From........Times Of India
