Another great story tonight. Remember our great tabby Mr. Jingles. I worked with a family to adopt him. At the time, it was closing and we didnt have time to get him chipped so they were going to bring him back for neuter and chip. Well, it just didnt work out. He was not comfortable with the dog and it was very stressful on all. With regret, the family returned him. His microchip still laying there waiting. It was heartbreaking. I was looking at him tonight and said poor Mr. Jingles. ..you just need out. I was worried about him. He was getting depressed and that is always a concern because that can cause a rapid decline in health and overall well being. I was very busy but noticed a sweet family with 2 little girls looking in the other cat room. I told them who I was and asked if they were looking to adopt...I would be happy to help. It was close to closing time. Probably... they were looking. Well the next thing I know they are standing at the desk holding Mr. Jingles and the dad said ..I think this is my cat. Well...Bingo ....Smokey is his name. He noticed the ear markings of a previous cat scuffle. Thanks to David and Mark...we got it done. They adopted him! We chipped him right then with his chip and scheduled his neuter. The little girls were thrilled. They had really missed him. The dad was very grateful we had him. I told them that this had made my night. Hugs and tears. What a blessing to witness this event. So glad I was there to share in this moment. Now I know why the first adoption didnt work out. His name is Smokey!
