Another late night trip to the vet last night resulted in another round of 72-hour delayed release antibiotics and B12 for Scrappy and Tansy. Scrappy is much perkier, and actually ate a good-sized portion of leftover pulled pork. Tansy, on the other hand, wont eat anything that isnt literally shoved down her throat. :( Ive been dosing her with Albon, NutriCal, and probiotics twice a day (vets Rx), as well as pumping her full of honey and warm water; 30cc via syringe every half hour to forty-five minutes. Now that Im done with work until August, while my wallet will take a hit, I can at least be here 24-7... Its pretty rough right now, I wont deny it. Poor Tansy moans almost constantly, every few seconds. I feel so awful that I cant just wave a magic wand and FIX her. Shes been tested by the vet, and his diagnosis is just stomach upset due to not eating. If I can just get her going, she should pull out of this in a couple of days. She has managed to keep down some bits of bread soaked in chicken broth this morning, so Ill give her some more in another hour. Im planning on mixing up some liver water today, as suggested by a friend, but Im wondering about adding in some puppy milk replacer. Shes still pretty young, only about 11 weeks old, but Im concerned about its being too rich for her to handle right now. I forgot to ask the vet last night...its a wonder I can remember my own name right now.
