Another letter to Ryan at 8 months... Hi sweetheart. Mommy is getting ready for bed.You finally fell aspeep about two hours ago. It is 9:30 now. You woke up for just a few minutes a while ago and I tried to give you a bottle. You didnt cooperate though. For the past month or so, youve been restless at night. You get up two or three times a night to take a bottle. Whew! Mommy and daddy are tired! Before laying you back down, I held you for a long while...staring at you precious little face. For the first time, it occurred to me that you would leave me one day and the very thought broke my heart. Ill be lost without you. Here you are, not even eight months old and Im already thinking of when youall leave and start a family of your own. Unbelievable! I have no idea what your father and I will do to occupy our time when that day comes! You are very active now. Although you are not quite crawling, you want to be. You can sit up and play beautifully. You like to romp around the house on our shoulders. You find everything either very funny or totally repulsive...theres not much in between. You love people and are quite the show off! I feel sure you will be quite the charmer as you get on with life. You truly have a winsome personality and are cute as a bug! Do I sound like a mother or what? Your aunt Karen and I discussed, of all things, your career yesterday. We decided a pilot or an engineer of architect would be nice. What do you think?
