Another milestone for Samuel Etoo By scoring Chelsea’s opening goal on Wednesday night during the Blues’ 2-0 win over Galatasaray at Stamford Bridge, Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o has reached the 30-goal mark in the UEFA Champions League. He became the 14th player to have achieved such a tally in the most prestigious of European club competitions since its inception in 1992, and the 17th all-time European Cup top scorer (since 1955). From the African continent, only Ivorian Didier Drogba has done better with 42 UEFA Champions League goals under his belt to date and an impressive 10th place on the log. The pair are the only representatives from Africa in the top 100, and are followed by Liberia’s George Weah (13 goals), Togo’s Emmanuel Adebayor and Ghana’s Michael Essien (both on 11 goals).
