Another misunderstood lyric from Elton John: Rocket man/Burning up the trees on evry lawn (Real lyric: Rocket man/Burning out his fuse up here alone.) Personally, I think burning up the trees on every lawn is cooler. Whats kind of cool is learning that the lyricist, Bernie Taupin, would write all the lyrics, and then mail them to Elton John, wherever he was, and then John would write the music and arrangements. They virtually never worked together in person to hammer things out, only starting to do this much later on in their careers. This might explain why some of the lyrics are so hard to understand.
