Another mixed few days coming up: mild to start, but colder again - TopicsExpress

Another mixed few days coming up: mild to start, but colder again for the end of the working week. We have heavy rain and breezy conditions just now with winds gusting gale force thanks to a weather system which is pushing in from the Atlantic and will cross the island overnight. Temperatures will rise as winds become more south westerly but the worst of the rain should clear by morning. Tomorrow looks set to be a day of sunshine and mostly light showers. It will feel cool in the sometimes strong westerly wind, but a bit milder than today with temperatures around 6 or 7C. Thursday also looks to be another showery but breezy day, perhaps the showers merging at times. Winds will slowly increase through the day. Temperatures starting similar to Wednesday but they will begin to fall away during the afternoon, highs around 6C. Things turn windy overnight as the winds become westerly and strong to gale force. We keep the showers but these will turn wintry once again, with snow falling in the mountains. Friday looks like a cool, windy day with frequent showers. These will mostly be of rain or hail at low levels, snow above 250 - 300m. Winds will be gale force from the west or north west, perhaps severe gale around the coast at times. High temperatures of around 4 or 5C.
