Another movie review. From time to time I get so sick of politics I try to escape by watching movies. So, this morning I decided to watch, Robin Hood, starring Russel Crowe. I expected a good old swash buckler. At first I thought the film had some potential. But as the film progressed I noticed it, too, was polluted with politics. For one thing, it took the old story of Robin Hood and turned it into a completely different story.... one which, in the end, endorses statism. The more I got into the film, the less I liked it, and the more it started to stink. It started to look more and more like that piece of trendy liberal crap, Avatar. So I googled it. I was wrong. Different director. Same crud. I like Russel Crowe movies, but this is the second one in a row I have watched, starring him, that is complete and utter crap. The other one was, Noah. I used to have the impression that big stars like Crowe could choose their own movies. But now I am starting to wonder. I mean, two crudfests in the last few years? Say it aint so. Not that the film is a total failure. It contains some music that I am very fond of... I noticed one ballad that was familiar to me, from the movie Barry Lyndon, but had no idea of the name of the song other than it sounded Irish. So I stuffed a few keywords into Google and then YouTube and, by gosh, I found it. Its called, Mna Na H-Eireann. It gives me rushes.
