Another murder in Basseterre ======================== Written by Val Henry, Miyvue Basseterre, St. Kitts, 23rd October, 2014, (MiyVue) - Another day and yet another killing in St. Kitts. Another family left to grieve as another young man loses his life to violent crime and gunshot wounds. This was the scene that unfolded on Thursday morning just after 8:00am, when a resident of Central Basseterre was attacked by unknown assailants. As police continue their probe it has been confirmed by the Police Press and Public relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David that the victim was a man beleived to be in twenties. The incident occurred at the lower section of Westbourne Ghaut, not too far from the intersection with Fort Thomas Road. Some reports from persons living in the area claimed that the man was shot by a person or persons who drove by in a vehicle. This is however being verified with police. As the crowd gathered on both sides of the crime scene, one could hear many in the crowd expressing their concern about the crime situation in the country and the senseless killings being carried about between rival youths. Police and this publication have decided to withhold the name of the victim for a few hours to ensure that all family members are duly notied of the loss of their loved one. This is the second killing in two days, following a similar shooting incident at the Paul Southwell Industrial Site on Tuesday, when a young man from Taylors Village was shot and killed not too far from the Fisheries Complex and Board Yard in the area. The death of the Central Basseterre man brings to 14, the number of murders in St. Kitts and Nevis for the year.
