Another one of our WW2 legends and heroes left us yesterday, 16th - TopicsExpress

Another one of our WW2 legends and heroes left us yesterday, 16th September, Stewart Bomb Finney passed away. Bomb was a true gentleman but also a respected SAAF WW2 fighter pilot. He flew in the Western Desert from 1941 and completed 3 combat tours ending as the commander of 2 squadron in Italy 1945. He was shot down and wounded in 1942. Bomb was the recipient of the DFC and Bar, one of only 14 SAAF fighter pilots to achieve this. The DFC is the Distinguished Flying Cross - a decoration usually awarded for bravery and Bomb received it twice. R.I.P. Bomb and blue skies forever. We are truly a lot poorer every-time one of WW2 national treasures touches the face of God. Our sincere condolences to the Finney family and thanks you to Tinus Le Roux for the information share.
