Another person in the 600 block of our street has experienced a break in / theft. The police were called. The police expressed with some certainty that they had a strong suspicion as to who was responsible and that person lives on our street and that person is also responsible for a great deal of the drug traffic on our street. Please be careful. Report ANY suspicious activity! Make sure your doors and windows are shut properly and locked, especially at night. Do not leave anything of value on your front porch. PLEASE do not take matters into your own hands. I know we are all very frustrated with the performance of law enforcement but you may only make things worse with guns. Remember, bullets can travel through a person, walls and even a house or two before them come to a stop. You never know what you might hit when you pull that trigger. I think it is better that we call the police department every five minutes and bug them until they do something than try to deal with this problem on our own. I know you are frustrated. I know you are angry. I know you feel abandon by law enforcement. I think we will be better served if we become the squeaky wheel rather than the smoking gun. I am still working on getting a meeting together with city council members, building and standards, and the police so we all can talk this out. I will continue to try and arrange this.
