Another protest outside Mufti’s residence PDP activists seek mandate for their leader Srinagar, July 16, CNS: After the supporters of Haji Parvez and Syed Bashir, it were the supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Batamaloo Constituency that staged a protest outside PDP president’s Gupkar residence demanding a mandate for the party district secretary Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat in the upcoming legislative assembly polls. Eyewitnesses told CNS that scores of supporters of Bhat accompanied by Bhat himself assembled outside Mufti’s residence in Srinagar and staged a protest demonstration urging party leaders to award mandate to Qayoom Bhat. They said that after Qayoom has done a lot for the people of Batamaloo Constituency and it is he who deserves party mandate from Batamaloo Constituency. Some of the activists reportedly met Party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed soon after the demonstration. “Mufti Sahb asked us to work in the interest of party and repose trust and faith in the political affairs committee of the party,” one of the supporters of Bhat told CNS.
