Another question about what an Eastern Catholic is obliged to - TopicsExpress

Another question about what an Eastern Catholic is obliged to believe--This time on Aquinas A few friends of mine are into Aquinas. They have urged me to read, starting with the Compendium. I am eight chapters in, and already having problems with his modus operandi. Aquinas infers that God is....because He is the Unmoved Mover. Hmm. As far as I can tell, that God is first mover only infers God is not subjugated to earthly physics. Aquinas seems to assume He is analyzable according to earthly physics by arguing that if there was an unmoved mover, who functions as things do in creation, than.... If Aquinas assumption is correct than his project is brilliant. If he has started from a faulty premise then his project is garbage. How aught I think about this? Am I incorrect? Have I missed something?
