Another reason to hire a professional pet sitter.....Tonight during a pet visit, something didnt feel right in the house. After walking around counting pets, checking windows, I went down to the basement and discovered that the basement door was wide open. It looks like the heavy winds we are having probably blew the door open because the deadbolt was not locked. So after calling the client, finding the key to the deadbolt, (which is different from the upstairs deadbolt), I was able to get the door locked and secured. If the pets had been at a boarding kennel with no one checking the house, the basement door would have stood open for days.
