Another sad loss. Years ago, when Scott Jeffress was toying with the idea of moving to Austin, he went to see Ian McLagan & the Bump Band play at the Lucky Lounge. As an example of just how cool this town is, Don Harvey, who was the drummer in the Bump Band, and also a local realtor, took Scott, Ian & his wife out for dinner after the show. Ians beautiful wife had been a model in the 60s, married to Keith Moon & was one of the girls listening in the famous video Beatles All You Need is Love. Pretty damn cool.... Every time folks came to visit me I would drag them down to the Thursday show at the Lucky Lounge to dance & enjoy these incredible musicians. One of the best all time shows, was when Ian & the Bump Band opened for the Rolling Stones. I brought my boys to the show, and it was an amazing, crazy experience, I will miss hearing his Hammond B3 live, but as this song attests, he now is with the love of his life, Kim, who preceded him in death in a car accident back in 2006. He wrote this song in the years afterwards, and as with other people that have recently lost their life long partners, you can totally feel his heartache. Oh, and that is Don on the drums in the background. Thanks Ian, you will be missed.
