Another story involving former co worker Phil bass. He was a big, hard partying country boy but would quote scripture from the Bible quite often. HE was fluent in German because his grandfather was a medic in the German army in WWII. His grandfather had a pistol and could have shot some allied troops but knew he would be killed. He surrendered and was starving in a POW camp because the English barely had enough to feed their own soldiers much less, prisoners. Phils grandmother lied her way across battle lines to reach the camp. Her husband was turned over to her because he was as good as dead. Phils grandfather could only eat one spoonful of food a day as his stomach had shrunk so much. He regained his strength and lived to be a ripe old age because his wife had come to save him.
