Another strong front on the way... Humidity is surging back - TopicsExpress

Another strong front on the way... Humidity is surging back across South Texas this evening. South winds have drawn dew points into the mid/upper 60s in SA and into the mid 70s along the coastal bend. Low clouds, drizzle, and even a few showers will develop in some parts of the area overnight. The relatively easy part of the forecast is what the front will do to temps & humidity this week. The front should pass shortly after Monday mornings commute, and it will turn a bit windy through Tuesday morning, with north winds of 10-25 mph. Humidity will plummet and skies will clear, leading to cool nights, and warm afternoons, with lots of Sun through the end of the work week. With good conditions for radiational cooling, morning lows in northern Bexar County could dip into the upper 40s Wednesday morning. As usual, the tricky part is forecasting the rain. Despite the surge of humidity ahead of the front, the best dynamics in the upper levels will be well to our north with this system, and some of the models are showing the front coming through San Antonio completely dry. I find that to be a bit on the pessimistic side. There should be a few showers and storms along the front, and with the surge in humidity, its possible that some isolated locations could get 0.5 to 1 - but most will see less than .25 - the further north and east you live from San Antonio, the better chances you will have of receiving some meaningful rain. 11 images here click/scroll to see larger versions. #TXwx #SATwx
