David Kempton has been left red-faced after wrongly claiming 150 unemployed Skytrans staff had been given work with Rex Aviation, the airline awarded the ­Government’s aviation contracts to the Gulf and western Queensland. It gave Skytrans’ former staff a false sense of hope heading into yesterday’s meeting. On Sunday Mr Kempton issued a statement to media saying, “some good news on the job front about 150 of Skytrans former staff have been taken up by the company that won the tender and other airlines.” That is untrue.
