When you commit to paying a player the type of money 💰 we think Dez wants you have to take into account more than just his play on the field. Youre basically making him the face of the organization for the next decade. That entails more than just playing football. He has to be a spokesman for the team, an ambassador, a living breathing representation of the Cowboys brand. He has to be a stand up guy like Lilly, Staubach, Aikman and Witten. When you give a guy that kind of dough youre paying him to do more than just catch TD passes. He has to be on the front lines taking all the shots, all the criticism, and doing it with integrity and class. He has to be well spoken and well educated. Michael Irvin was the heart ❤ of the 90s team, but Troy was the face of the franchise. No matter what was going on with Michael, Nate, and everyone else Troy was the rock in the middle with the demeanor of a 5 star 🌟 general who never waivered. Thats the real issue that the Cowboys are facing in the contract issue. They arent sure Dez is that guy. No one questions his ability on the field, but when youre the face of the franchise its about more than just playing the game on the field. You have to know how to play the game off the field as well.
