Another thought on the #EU vs #Eurasian bloc competition. Since the Eurasian bloc was established with just 3 countries in 2012 the trade in this free trade bloc has TRIPLED. Meanwhile the EU is close to economic collapse in the periphery and fragmentation as those countries try to rescue themselves. Perhaps the fear is that one or more periphery countries might flee the EU, get their currencies back, devalue, reignite their economies and join the Eurasian bloc - especially if the Eurasian bloc gets tied into China? Its a possible motive for such extremely undemocratic behaviour that we have seen recently.
