Another very special day today!! Got to fly the Air NZ Dreamliner (Simulator) B787-9 in Auckland!! Wow was that an experience. Thanks to Air NZ and thanks to my Sim Instructor Brian I got to do several take off and landings in and out of Auckland. We flew to San Fransisco, Hong Kong and around Mount Everest. Landed into Christchurch on Runway 29 into a 40kt Westerly and we did an engine failure after takeoff out of Auckland - wow so easy!!! what a lovely aircraft. Used the HUD and still cant believe you pilots out there get paid to fly these aircraft. Very little input from pilots required and the aircraft knows all the limits (handling and speed). It wont let you do anything wrong!! So Im putting the challenge out to all my Facebook friends to help me buy a sim! If you all chip in $50,000 each I only need to reach $13.5M and I can have my own sim! In the meantime some pix attached below - wahooo!!! (left to right) The 87 above the clouds; at the controls; Everest; The heads up display makes Hong Kong a breeze; banking left over Wakatipu before a beautiful landing on 05 at Queenstown; short finals Queenstown; Brian and I; How hard was that? lol
