Another way to look at this issue: we might consider the cost of organic food (grown without toxic chemicals) normative, since thats how food should be grown. However, if youd like to buy poisoned food at discounted prices, that options available to you, too. While the latter option may appear to save money in the short term, if you factor in health costs, you end up spending your savings and then some on medical bills. For many middle class households, its a priority decision. The question comes down to this: what aspect of your lifestyle can you afford to sacrifice so your children and you enjoy the health benefits real foods offer?
