Another year over as a new one starts. I wonder what 2015 will have in store for us. We have just returned from a sunny break. We left the UK on Christmas day for an early flight to the sunshine and we returned yesterday. It is the first time we have taken off for Christmas and New Year combined. Last year on Christmas day I cried in Reuben’s room, my heart broken at all that we had lost and I couldn’t bear to spend the day without him. I pulled myself together to make sure that Isaac didn’t notice any of my upset and I floated through the day. I didn’t want to do that again and Mike hatched a plan for us to go away. To change all that we were used to, and to help create new memories without those painful trigger and reminders. Isaac took his new R2D2 bag to the airport stuffed with pressies and we made sure that Father Christmas made his way to Abu Dhabi too. We spent the remainder of Christmas day at our lovely hotel. Early to bed we woke to the most wonderful views and fabulous sunshine. We also spent my birthday there (29th), Isaac’s (NYE) and New Years eve and its firework spectacular. All celebrations that contain great “miss” within them. Escaping worked for me, but it also had its drawbacks. By escaping the days, it also meant leaving my family and friends behind. I received some lovely cards, messages and gifts and I am blessed with a loving family and beautiful friends old and new. I don’t know what 2015 holds, but I hope it holds some “happy”. I am not making resolutions this year. Mike and I have committed to a “Dry” January and we are hoping to get back on track with our health and fitness too. Then I will take each day and week as it comes and always do my best. For now, I can’t ask for any more. I wish you all well for 2015. I hope it brings you peace and happiness and good health.
