Antarctica-One of the best places to visit in December is Antarctica. It is located in the southern hemisphere so it’s summer there. Visitors can experience up to 20 hours of daylight. Although about 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice,it is technically a desert (the largest on earth) with very little precipitation. Sea life of Antarctica includes penguins, blue whales, orcas and seals. For tourists, Antarctica is accessible only from November to March, during which sea ice melts enough to allow access. It’s also the time when those adorable penguin chicks start hatching. Scarcely touched by humans,the frozen land boasts breathtaking scenery. Even the journey to get there,crossing the Southern Ocean is an experience – with no landmass,low-pressure systems circle clockwise unimpeded, eventually reaching incredible speeds. The Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic are often included in a trip to Antarctica. The night sky in Antarctica will definitely leave you awestruck. Antarctica is a land of extremes,it is the coldest,driest and the windiest continent on the planet and has the highest average elevation of all the continents. But those who go to this wild continent are rewarded with its peculiar beautiful scenery and unique wildlife. :)
