Antelope High parents....especially those that have current 8th graders! I was just speaking to the athletic director about the lack of freshman baseball. As it stands, Antelope is more than capable of housing a freshman team. He claims...CLAIMS, that there was no interest. I told him thats because for the past three years there hasnt been a freshman team so parents feel there was a definite road block. He even stated if he had the numbers at JV tryouts for 2014 he wouldve pulled a freshman team...well....hes not going to get interest if parents werent told that! So heres the plan....8th Grade Athletic Orientation night is May 12th. Any, ANY, incoming Antelope player that is interested in playing freshman ball in 2015, needs to show interest THAT NIGHT. Antelope can staff (meaning coaching staff) a team. Antelope HAS the facility. I warned him that I would be sending MANY his way on May 12...so dont disappoint. AHS is changing divisions next year and going up against powerhouses such as Del Campo and Oakmont....we cannot NOT foster a freshman team and we need to start building that program. Do we want the JV and Varsity to get better? Yes. Then start now.
