Antero Resources and Hall Drilling get a Wake Up Call as Salem Residents file Lawsuit Two Dozen Salem Area residents have had enough and have stated in court filings that they are no longer able to enjoy their lives and use their homes and properties in the way they did previous to Antero Resources and Hall Drillings actions. The lawsuit, filed in Harrison County Circuit Court citing that the oil and gas operations near their homes have negatively impacted their quality of life. Their lawsuit, which demands a trial by jury, alleges that Anteros hydraulic fracturing has ruined their water wells, severely damaged area roads, and have creating excessive traffic, light, noise and air pollution. Of the 24 Salem residents some cite harassment from Oil & Gas company employees. The 24 individuals filing the lawsuit live on Cherry Camp Road, Rainbow Ranch Road, Haymond Woods Road, and Stillhouse Road. They state that Antero has negligently mismanaged natural gas wells, resulting in several spills that discharged hazardous fracking fluids onto their land and into local streams and creeks. These negligent natural gas activities adjacent to their homes has made their water supply unusable for drinking, bathing, and other sundry uses. Court filings state that Antero Resources, of Denver, Colorado and Hall Drilling of Ellenboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia, have continuously concealed the dangerous nature of their natural gas activities and the impact it has on the environment and residents in the immediate vicinity. The plaintiffs are represented by the Charleston Law firm of Hill, Peterson, Carper, Bee & Deitzler. Chief Judge James A. Matish is assigned to the case in Harrison County.
