Anthony F. Sanchez about an hour ago I need advice. This morning I received a certified letter from the Home Owners Association that they were foreclosing on my house. This is happening because (as most of you do not know) last year was devastating to me financially. I lost a major job and as a result fell behind on many bills. As the year progressed I caught up on a lot of bills, and even refinanced my house lowering the mortgage considerably and getting that caught up as well. One bill that went unpaid because I did not have enough was the Home Owners association monthly fee. The amount reached $3000.00. Last month they placed a LIEN on my home. According to the letter I received today titled AUTHORIZATION TO FORECLOSURE, this month they initiated FORECLOSURE through the collection agency. The BOARD of the HOA authorized it. I called an hour ago, but they are closed. Tomorrow in the morning I am going to ask (like I did in the voice-mail which I just left) that I do not want them to foreclose and that I want to pay the bill. I am getting paid $2000.00 next week, and will get another in two more weeks. That should cover the bill. MY QUESTION TO YOU: Can they elect to continue with foreclosure and take my home despite me paying the bill? I AM TERRIFIED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
